Krusty the Clown, nee Herschel Krustofski, AKA the "maitre d' of Glee," is a kids TV-show host, all around funnyman, and entrepreneur. As a child, Herschel Krustofski would do anything for a chance to entertain; as an adult, Krusty the Clown would do anything for a chance to make a buck, including phone sex, faking his own death, and getting a boob job. But he really makes in the long green by shamelessly merchandising any product, regardless how shoddy. These include the Krustyburger Meet-Flavored Sandwich, Dr. Krusty's Balloon-Animal Homer angioplasty Kit, Krusty's Non-Toxic Kologne (for the smell of the Big Top), and the ever-popular vaguely-refreshing Krusty Brand Pork Squeezin's. In addition, he has created Krustylu Studios, The Krustyland Amusement Park, and Kamp Krusty -- the Krustiest Place on Earth, a summer camp for the woefully uninformed. As the host of the Krusty the Clown Show, home of the luaghably violent Itchy & Scratchy Cartoons, Krusty is not only a bright star in the Springfield pantheon, he is the idol of most of the town's children. Bart claims to have based his whole life on Krusty's teaching. And while Bart has, on separate occasions, rescued Krusty's repuiation, TV show, and even his life, Krusty can't ever seem to remember Bart's name. Krusty is just as cavalier with his co-workers on the show. He once poured liquid nitrogen down Sideshow Mel's pants and cracked his buttocks with a hammer. Some explain this behavior by pointing to Krusty's strained relationship with his\ father, Hyman Krustofski, who disapproves of the clown's life and Krusty's Pork Products empire.
